Happy November, Tolkien Poppers!
I hope that you had a fantastic Halloween, filled with candy, costumes, and (possibly) adult beverages. I know mine was! Here is my wife Kelly and I passing out candy and getting ready to get Boo-ritos from Chipotle:
Now that Halloween has come and gone, we enter November and the anticipation for all the upcoming holidays. The 1st of November holds an important event in the First Age of Tolkien’s legendarium. On this day in F.A. 495, Tuor, guided by Voronwë, travels to the hidden elven kingdom of Gondolin in order to deliver the Vala Ulmo's message to Turgon, warning him of the evils that will come to Gondolin.
Not only does November 1st contain the journey of Tuor to Gondolin, but also the release of my book, Tolkien and Pop Culture: Volume I! This book is a selection of my Substack posts from the past couple of years, cleaned up, and formatted for publication. For the first time, you can get all these essays in print or for your Kindle. It’ll look great on your shelf and be available for your own Tolkien purposes! Use the QR code or the link to get your copy today: https://a.co/d/92tjAJR
This book would not be possible without all your support throughout these couple years, so thank you. I’ve been inspired by your readership and interaction with my work. Here’s to many more!
